A Family Prayer

Pro 17:6  Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

Dear Father

I come to you in the name of your Son, for I know you hear him. I ask you to send me a blessing through my father for he is my glory. When he speaks words of affirmation to me, my heart sings. When he is pleased with me, I am fully satisfied. You have put the power of life and death in his tongue towards me. I pray that you would put life in his tongue and that he would bless me. Your love flowing to me through my father is magnified a hundred fold.

I also ask that you bless my mother. Put words of kindness in my father’s mouth for my mother. My mother has always loved me and supported me, she has been my comfort in my childhood and youth. May he bless her so that her path is made sweet. Then may she rise up and honour my father, that his kingdom be established, for it rests on her shoulders. His authority is measured by the respect she has for him. His power to bless is heavily dependent upon her respect for him. Father I ask that you enlarge the sense of respect that my mother has for my father, that his power to bless will grow, that his cup will overflow and fall upon me.

I thank you for hearing this prayer. I eagerly await these blessings. I wait in confidence and hope. I thank you Lord Jesus for putting these thoughts in my heart and drawing them out so you can present them to our Father, your heart is alway desiring to bless me and comfort me.

I thank you in Jesus name
