Vesture Dipped in Blood

In this article Brother Kerr explores different concepts we have of the second coming of the Messiah, which fits perfectly with the theme of the October camp meeting in Talking Rock, Georgia, where he will be one of the speakers. (Frank Klin)

     2nd coming    Second Coming-red-destruction

The first picture shown above is the one which stands out in my mind as representative of the visualization I had in regards to Yahushua’s return. I had always taken for granted that He would return dressed in white. However the Scripture does not support this mental image I had. Worse than that is the fact that it is not supported in the Scriptures. Revelation 19:11-14 states,

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of  fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of Elohim. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

There is a subtle difference between these two pictures yet every Christian will have had some image etched in their mind as to this soon coming event. I am going to just share some of the  symbolic meanings of the picture outlined in the Revelation of Yahushua as found in other  places of Scripture:

White Horse: victory. Rev 6:2 and 19:11.

Vesture dipped in Blood: Death, war and slaughter. Matt 27:24, Isa 15:9 34:3, Rev 11:10, 8:8, 11:6, 14:20.

Eyes were as a flame of fire: Fire is used to denote destruction and justice of Elohim. Ps 68:2, Heb 12:29.

Word of Elohim Jer. 5:14.

On his head were many crowns: Crown, Dignity and Honor, Proverbs 16:31, Isa 28:1-5, 62:3.

As you consider these texts along with symbolic meaning does it change your understanding of the return of Yahushua at all? Why was I shown a picture of the second coming with our Saviour dressed in pure white when the Scripture states His vesture was dipped in blood? There is a  saying that a picture is worth a thousand words and so very subtly your mind can be shaped with a mental image that may be very incorrect.

This leads us to a question, “What difference does it make?”

I can only answer for myself and so here is my understanding. The battle is still on when Yahushua returns dressed in garments dipped in blood. This is a rescue mission to redeem Hispeople out of this sin-filled and blood-filled earth. He has called His people to  come out of Babylon now so that they would not be a partaker of her plagues and yet there comes a point where they need to be rescued out of this world unto Himself. There are spiritual accounts which need to be settled and these accounts have beenentrusted to Yahushua by His faithful followers. Vengeance has been placed totally in the hands of the One who has wisdom to repay correctly, Romans 12:19 says,

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith YHWH.

You may be facing an insurmountable problem with no solution in sight. Have you given it to Yahushua? He knows your needs. A sparrow does not fall without His notice. Life is such a valuable thing that the garment dipped in blood unites our Saviour in a special way to those who have given their physical and/or spiritual lives for the sake of Yahushua. Revelation 6:9 says,

I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of YHWH, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O YHWH, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

He is longing to return and settle these outstanding accounts, for the shed blood of the faithful believer speaks to His heart.

In this picture of Yahushua’s return there is one party which is not seen. It is the living saints on earth. What is your image of them? What picture does the Scripture share with us regarding those alive and waiting His return? The picture is first portrayed in Daniel 12:1 when the following is stated,

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

The people who are to be delivered have secured their name in the Book of Life (1). These people are actively waiting for Him. They are a people who have passed through great tribulation and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the lamb (2).

Are you today washing your robe in the blood of the Lamb as you journey out of Babylon? There is only one place to wash your robe and that is to be within the Sanctuary which is in Heaven by faith (3). We need to place ourselves within the order of Melchisedec to be where our great High Priest ministers for us.

Is the spirit of  forgiveness and repentance a part of our daily spiritual journey? Are we allowing the refining fires to purify our souls? Remember every Bride needs to know how to wash her cloths!

May the spirit of self-sacrifice join with the offerings of praise we submit to our Father and His Son. May we give thanks to His name and not forget tocommunicate/fellowship with our fellow pilgrims on the journey as we await our retuning king. May we do good in this world to His honor and glory (4). May we thoughtfully and prayerfully consider the images we have of events to soon come upon this earth.
