One Mediator, Two Intercessions.

"Now the Lord is that Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty" 2 Cor 3:17

When I was first shown this promise, I didn't think much of it...but as a re-read what it said, the Lord opened my eyes to something that gave me true freedom and a place to belong.

When we look at the promise, that is exactly what we see...a promise.  When we know the Lord as described in the Bible "The Lord (Father) said unto my Lord (Son), sit thou at my Right Hand..." we see that the name given to Jesus is Lord, like his Father.  We see that he is "...that Spirit...the Spirit of the Lord..." or in alpha of the Chapter “Spirit of the Living God".

What we see here is something that the naked eye cannot. By faith we will see what the Lord is sharing with us.  Through faith we can see that the Lord places himself in our hearts, by his personal presence with and in us, so that he is reflected to the world and that people may behold his lovely image.  What a joyful privilege to be a vessel of the Lord, to shine forth his Glory and Character, and to show the World of a Mighty God we serve.

God entrusts his followers to be channels of blessings to those whom they come in contact with, that they may see a likeness of Christ living in them.  This is said in our brother Pauls letter...

"I am crucified in Christ, never the less I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me, and the life I now live I live by the Faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me"

When I see this promise, I see that it was meant for the me...

"Bana is crucified in Christ, never the less Bana live, yet not Bana, but Christ liveth in Bana, and the life that Bana now lives he lives by the Faith of the Son of God who loved him and gave himself for Bana"

When we see the promise meant for us, we begin to realise that the Lord is our personal Saviour, and that his personal presence works its way in us.  People begin to see the difference you are than what you use to be.  The Lord gently places his hand on your heart, and with the warmest affection says the Same Word that the Father said to Him

"You are my beloved Child, in thee I am well pleased"

Dear reader, this promise is for you. If you hear the word of the lord speaking to your heart, do not refuse.  Let him come in and be a shower of blessing.

When we Understand that the "Lord is that Spirit" we will want his Life in us.  How do we have the Life of Christ?  By eating his Word, and taking it just as it reads and in context.

"It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." John6:63

this above text shows us that the words that Christ speaks to the soul, is a manifestation of his divine presence, it is himself placed in the heart.

The Word of the Lord saith...

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." John 14:18

When we believe in the only begotten Son of God, and receive him, he becomes the comforter for the receiver.  Why doesn't the World recognise Christ as the Comforter? Because they don't know him.  How will they Know who he is? If he abides in the receiver.

Trembling child of God, are you troubled, he will comfort.  are you distressed, he will bring relief.  Are you discouraged? he will enlighten.  The Lord knoweth the heart of all his dear children.  If he remembers the sparrow, how will he forget thee?

"...where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty."

When The Life of Christ is in the heart of the receiver, that repentant sinner experiences a power that surpasses the power that Sampson had.  They begin to realise that the truth has set them free from the Wages of Sin.  And then they begin to experience a spiritual resurrection from the old man to the new man.

It is Written...

"And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." 2Tim 3:15-17

As we receive righteousness by faith, the Lord begins to sanctify his child.  As this process of sanctification is occurring in the unseen realm of the heart, purification occurs.  The husbandman is doing his Work, while the Branch is connected to the True Vine (John 15).  When the Close of Probation occurs, the Lord will test the loyalty of his followers and he will then we will be glorified together with the Lord.  What a remarkable process and unworthy gift.  It will be tough and rocky, but if the Lord is for us, then who can be against us.

"The Spirit (Spiritual life of Christ) itself beareth witness with our spirit (nature of man), that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. " Romans 8:16-17

"And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. " Romans 8:23-27

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. " 1Tim 2: 5-6

When we unite these following texts together, by the golden threads of the scriptures, we see that there is one mediator between God and Man, Our fore-runner...Lord Jesus Christ...but we also see two types of intercessions.

In the Most Holy Place, Christ entered into a temple made without hands, the antitype of the type that was on earth before his Advent.  He pleads with God the Father to receive those that are truly repenting.  This is such an honourable duty for the sinful person to receive, because it shows us of God's Mercy seat.

In his human Nature, the Son of Man comes before the ancient of Days and pleads on our behalf in the Heavenly Sanctuary.  This is the first type of intercession.

The other type of intercession is different, but reflecting the same nature.  Christ is here with us in his Divine Nature, and as the Son of God, pleads with man to come back to Jehovah.  He translates our prays by the sweet incense of his life, he prompts us to pray, his Spirit helps our infirmities, it makes intercession on our behalf and searches the heart.  This type of intercession is a heart searching intercession.  It is the Lord himself that searches the heart, only he who is begotten of the father knows his Mind, for he came forth from Jehovah.

One mediator, two types of intercessions.

Now brethren tell me, if Christ is in Heaven as the Son of Man, pleading before the Father on man's behalf...What is man to be on behalf of the Father to the World?   If God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, what should we cry?  If we cry ABBA, Father, then are we not his sons by adoption? If we are then no more illegitimate children, but sons and daughters of the King...Lets us Come boldly to the throne of Grace that we may find help in the Time of need.

The Lord has given us a place to belong, it is with him.  Read it in the first verse of Revelation 14, and you will see that these are they that follow the Lamb where ever he goes.

May the Lord Always be with you, and as he intercedes on our behalf, may we be the channels of intercession for him to a lost and dying race.

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." 2 Cor 3:17-18

Let us remember and be strengthen by the beautiful promise that he gives us today

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. " 1John 3:1-3
