“But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall “begin” to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets (Rev. 10:7).”
I believe that the mystery of God is not a mystery to His people for He had declared it unto His servants the prophets together with its finishing; like what the voice between the banks of the Ulai said “Gabriel make this man understand the vision” (Dan. 8:16); and no prophecy of the scripture is of private interpretation(2Pet 1:20) because it is for the benefit of God's people. Yet as Daniel was told, “the wicked shall do wickedly and none of the wicked shall understand.”(Dan. 12:10). It follows here that the mystery of God is a mystery to the wicked but it is a light to God’s people.
The mystery of God is the gospel as was declared by Paul (Ephesians 1:9-10, Ephesians 6:19, Ephesians 3:3&6, Galatians 1:11-12); that in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth.
The seventh angel is the last in the series and when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished. The gospel was given to take out from this world a people for God’s name (Acts 15:14); it follows that when this is finished the number of God’s people has been made up and probation closes, the censer having been cast to the earth, no more prayers mingled with incense, yeah Christ’s ministration in the sanctuary has forever ceased (Rev. 8:5). And so the finishing of the mystery of God is the closing work of the gospel here on earth and is also the closing work involving the Father and the Son in the Most Holy Place in the heavenly sanctuary.
In my opinion, this closing work of the gospel here on earth does not only mean the spreading of the gospel to the whole world. More important is that the message of the gospel should approach its completeness on any true bearer of the message. The question may be asked, is not the gospel message complete at the cross? We take note that a book has been sealed, reserved to be opened until the time of the end (Dan 12:9). So from this point, it seems that more is to be revealed regarding the gospel message. Going on further, before this book was opened we have the time of the Reformation in which the central message was “Justification by Faith”; that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Yet when the sealed book of Daniel was opened after the 1260 prophetic days marking the beginning of the time of the end, the message of “the hour of God’s judgment is come” is added to the message of justification by faith; yet these two messages are parts of the revealed truths of the “whole gospel”.
To continue with the revealing of the truths of the gospel, after those who saw the angel(Rev. 10:1), obeyed God and went to the angel(Rev. 10:9), took the book (Rev. 10:10) ate it up(v.10) experienced bitterness(v10), they were asked to prophesy again, not to a local extent but to the world. But what then is the theme of their message? They were asked “Arise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and them that worship therein” To measure is related to building again, repairing the breach, building again things that are made waste before (Isa. 58:12), for a structure, before it is constructed or repaired should have its appropriate dimensions properly implemented. We know the sanctuary (the temple of God) and the host (the worshippers) has been trodden down (Dan. 8:13). For the sanctuary, it has been said that unto 2300 prophetic days then shall the sanctuary be cleansed (justified in some)(Dan. 8:14). For the people of God (worshippers), it has been said that they shall be delivered when Michael shall stand (Dan. 12:1). When it has been said “arise and measure”, the bearers of the message during this time must give the subject of the sanctuary, the advocacy of Christ as depicted in the altar of incense, and the law of God as the measuring rod of worshippers as true worshippers. This I believe is the commanded message to any bearer of truth after the time of the bitter disappointment and after the end of the 2300 prophetic days which both happened in 1844. This should be the highlight of the message that is to be delivered to the world during the sounding of the seventh angel which begun to sound his trumpet way back 1844 also. In my opinion, William Miller has not known the fullness of the sanctuary message because it is not for his time that the message is to be revealed for according to bible prophecy, the message of the sanctuary will be delivered clearly on the last part of the gospel dispensation after the great disappointment. We are living in this time period and so our message should not be only the cross which is the message of the outer court; but should be the whole sanctuary message. This I believe is what is meant by the complete gospel; a message from the outer court to the Most Holy Place. I believe that in Rev. 11:2, we are not asked to measure the outer court because it has been measured by the two witnesses during the 1260 prophetic days. It has already been measured way back to that time by the reformers preaching the Old and New Testament in sackcloth; witnessing to the world during the Dark Ages that the scripture points to Jesus as the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. Yet many people in this world, when they have accepted this, remained at the outer court and have never went with our Lord inside the sanctuary. Now, during and after the great disappointment in 1844, many who went in the first apartment of the sanctuary have not followed the Lord in the Most Holy Place. My prayer brethren is that, may God in His mercies remove our blindness for us to see fully the most solemn event happening in heaven in which we are related. Yet I thank the Father, the fountain of truth; and His Son, our Lord and Saviour; that they have sent us their spirit, which is the Holy Spirit, revealing us the mystery of God, that we may proclaim and prophesy before the world, the last and complete message of the gospel, the message of the sanctuary starting from the outer court and going to the Mostly Holy Place.
Lastly, the blessed 144,000 are said to have followed the Lamb, “whichsoever He goeth” (Rev. 14:4). Jesus said, “I am the way”(John 14:6)…”follow Me”(John 10:27)…”in the sanctuary (Psalms77:13)”. The blessed 144,000 followed Jesus from the outer court up to the Most Holy Place and I believe this is the reason why they are not defiled with women (Babylon and her daughters) and they remained virgins, pure in the doctrine of the Father and His Son as revealed by their spirit; the Spirit of truth. Indeed the wise shall understand…but the wicked shall not understand. Brethren we should pray that God, in His mercies, will continue hold us in the light of the gospel of truth.
