Mat 16:15-17  He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

“As by faith we look to Jesus, our faith pierces the shadow, and we adore God for His wondrous love in giving Jesus the Comforter.”  19MR 297

Note: This is a very interesting use of language. Ellen White calls Jesus the Comforter. Ellen White knew the Bible well enough to know the implications of making such a statement. Some people may read this and claim that she is saying that Jesus is th Holy Spirit, but this is incorrect. It is the personal presence of Jesus that comforts us through the representation of the Holy Spirit. Accepting that the identity of the Holy Spirit is a complete mystery and that "He does not speak of Himself" We do not need to trouble ourselves with trying to know the identity of the Spirit, only that He brings the person of Jesus to me and that Jesus is the person I must focus upon.

“The greatest fault we can find in the Reformation is, the Reformers stopped reforming. Had they gone on, and onward, till they had left the last vestige of Papacy behind, such as natural immortality, sprinkling, the trinity, and Sunday-keeping, the church would now be free from her unscriptural errors.” - J. S. White, RH, Feb 7, 1856
