Bible Gems

Sometimes I see the bible as a good jigsaw puzzle. You put pieces together that seem to fit and a little bit of the picture begins to form. As you get further along you often realize the picture you thought you were forming is wrong and the image makes no sense.

When my subconscious is influenced by the trinity doctrine the full picture can never be seen but now as I am growing, the bible is coming together in one beautiful harmonious picture. It’s the picture of the Father and His Son.

Here are two bible texts that fitted together for me recently. I read John 16:13

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

As I read this verse I said to myself. I know that voice. I started flipping through my bible and came to this text found in John 8:28. It is Jesus speaking again.

So Jesus said to them, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own authority, but speak just as the Father taught me.

As I read John 16:13 again it was so clear that the spirit of truth was Jesus simply speaking of Himself in the third person as He often does.

John 16:13 he will not speak on his own authority, (third Person) and

John 8:28, (first person) - I do nothing on my own authority, but speak just as the Father taught me.

So it makes sense to me that this rule would apply when we see the title Holy Spirit, Comforter….. etc. It is JESUS Himself invisible, yet visible in our hearts.
(I know that voice)

Just on a different line of thought.

I have been blessed reading books by our early pioneers such as

A.T. Jones: The Consecrated Way, E. J. Waggoner: Christ and His Righteousness, but the one that has blessed me the most for clear, simple yet convincing truths was a book written by C. S. Longacre: The Deity of Christ.

I pray we never grow tired searching for the wonderful riches of God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
