Original Love and Woman's Ordination by Adrian Ebens. [Espanol]
During His sermon on the mount, Jesus touched several key areas that are a struggle for man. One of the points he mentioned was this.
Mat 5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: (28) But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
For any Christian man, these words seem to provide the crushing blow to any sense of righteousness he might feel he possesses. In these words Jesus touches the very core of man?s slavery to sin. For any man seeking to be pure in heart, this pronouncement drives him to his knees in sorrow and a deep sense of his need of the living Saviour in His heart. To know Jesus is to know that He never looked upon a woman to lust after her. With the knowledge of this reality, we have hope that we as fallen men might be transported in our hearts back to original love.
When we think about the event when Adam first saw Eve, most men imagine that Adam said WOOO! MAN! Yet this places onto Scripture the inclinations of the perverted heart. Many men can?t even contemplate imagery of the garden for fear their corrupted nature will take control. To understand the love that was in the heart of Adam when he saw Eve we simply need to read the Bible.
Gen 2:22-23 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. (23) And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.?
Notice carefully the words of Adam as their eyes meet. ?This is bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.? The basis of this original love was not that Adam saw something beautiful which he desired to possess. He saw someone who had drawn her life from him; he saw a person that had come from next to his heart and therefore he cherished her as his second self. [Read More...]
William Miller Abandons the Trinity by Adrian Ebens.
I was always of the belief that William Miller was a Trinitarian. The following statement gives clear proof that he was certainly that at one point.
William Miller statement 1 Sep 5, 1822.
"ART. II. I believe in one living and true God, and that [78] there are three persons in the Godhead, - as there is in man, the body, soul and spirit. And if any one will tell me how these exist, I will tell him how the three persons of the Triune God are connected."
"ART. III. I believe that God, by his Son, created man in the image of the Triune God, with a body, soul and spirit; and that he was created a moral agent, capable of living, of obeying, or transgressing the laws of his Maker." Sylvester Bliss, Memoirs of William Miller, (1853) pages 77,78 ? Written at Low Hampton, Sept. 5, 1822
This statement is certainly Trinitarian.
But this is not the end of the story. Just today I stumbled across this statement that was published in 1842, 20 years after the first statement.
William Miller statement 2, 1842.
I believe in God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is a Spirit, omnipresent, omniscient, having all power, creator, preserver, and self-existent. As being holy, just and beneficent, I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, having a body in fashion and form like man, divine in his nature, human in his person, godlike in his character and power. He is a Savior for sinners, a priest to God, a mediator between God and man, and King in Zion. He will be all to his people, God with us forever. The spirit of the Most High is in him, the power of the Most High is given him, the people of the Most High are purchased by him, the glory of the Most High shall be with him, and the kingdom of the Most High is his on earth. Michael the Eternal Mediator by Gary Hullquist.
The eternal Mediatorship of the Son is a wonderful theme for our contemplation. It is very much a necessary part of the Divine Pattern conceived by the Father in order that every created being may know Him as only the Son knows Him (Matt 11:27).
Adventists have been over the years and are still criticized today for teaching that the pre-incarnate Son of God was an angel because we (like the Jehovah?s Witnesses) teach that Michael the archangel is identified with Christ. Of course we are quick to reassure everyone that he is not just an angel, but the divine Son of God who, as the Word of God, was the preeminent Messenger (angel) of the Covenant (Malachi 3:1), the Leader, the Commander, the Captain of the Lord?s hosts (Joshua 8:44). It was Michael and His angels that opposed the devil and his angels in the very first war. But the fact is clear that because God created all things by Jesus Christ (Eph 3:9) it was Michael who created all the heavenly angels; it was Michael who made his angels ministering spirits of flaming fire (Psalm 104:4).
So, while Michael is not just an angel (but rather the only begotten of the Father having the fullness of the Father?s divine God nature in him bodily), he is the first Messenger, the first and ?only being in all the universe? (GC p. 493.1) to take the Words of the Father directly from Him to all created beings. This is a vital part of the Father?s plan. It was vital for humanity that the Word became flesh; it was vital for all other created beings as well that they could see the Father revealed in the Son who mediates the Father?s glory to all creation. He is not just the link between divinity and humanity, but between divinity and all creation.
