The below article from the Bible Echo (Australian SDA Magazine) was written by Elder AT Robinson in the year 1898. It is entitled “Gods Eternal Purpose” (Zechariah 6:13) Here are some introductory insights that the Apostle Paul gives us into the “Eternal Purposes of God”!

Ephesians 1:9&10:

Vs9 “Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: Vs10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him”

Ephesians 3:9-11:

Vs9  “And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: Vs10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, Vs11  According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord”

Ephesians 3:14-19:

Vs14  “For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Vs15  Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, Vs16  That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; Vs17  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith;”....

“Christ, the Word, the only begotten of God, was one with the eternal Father—one in nature, in character, in purpose—the only being that could enter into all the counsels and purposes of God.” . . . {CTr 7.4}
