When He Comes Will He Find Faith on the Earth?

I was thinking about the position that the Son of God is in  - a submissive role to the Father, the conduit or channel through which all of God's love, life, blessings, creative power etc flow to the rest of the universe.  The Son receives all from the Father; everything originates from the Father, who is the Source of everything.

Our natural human way of thinking cringes at the thought, that the Son is a channel, that nothing originates from Him, He receives all from the Father.  The "lie of the serpent" lurking within us makes us recoil from this concept - it makes us feel that if you have nothing originating from yourself, you are a nobody - just a reflector of someone else.  We would prefer to see something coming from the Son, we don't want Him to be a reflector of someone else.  We would take part in the same spirit as Peter and rebuke our Lord:

Mat 16:22  Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.

And Jesus would rebuke us, as He did Peter:

Mar 8:33  But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

When I see things inside myself that recoils from the submissive channel position of the Son of God; when I see things inside myself that shows unbelief in the truth, because my human nature rejects the ideas - and I realise how deeply rooted is the "lie of the serpent" that there must be power from within us for us to feel valuable - I fear.  "Oh ye of little faith".

Luk 18:8  ... Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Praise God that He is showing us what lies within our hearts now, while there is still probationary time to allow Him to wash us clean and root out the evil that lurks deep within our hearts.

I want to grow in faith - so that there will be Faith on the earth when Jesus comes again!!
