You Shall Be a Blessing Prayer

Gen 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
Mal 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
Dear Father
I am so thankful for pointing me back to the origins of Abraham. I have studied carefully how you called and blessed him and how the blessing works. You have stated clearly that you would bless HIM and that HE would be a blessing. The blessing passes through HIM as the head of his house.
You have shown me how this works in my own home. Through my wife and children you have made my name great in their hearts. You have placed me in the position to bless them and to pass onto them your sense of pleasure and acceptance. My acceptance of them and pleasure in them comes from you. You bless me and I become a blessing to them.
It is wonderful to start to understand these things. Lord grant me wisdom to using this blessing wisely. Let me be careful with my words that I not speak rashly or flippantly. By looking at your family kingdom, I see my words mean much and can either bring life or destroy my family. Let me speak words of life to my wife and sons, let me encourage them and may they know I love them and care for them.
You showed me the other day that because I have been infected by the serpents lie in the past, I have failed to bless correctly. In my love for my family, I have become frustrated with them when they do things I know will hurt them. I speak firm words to them more to stop my pain than to help them. You have shown me that the best way to help my family grow is for them to know that I am well pleased with them and am praying for them and have confidence that God will help them. I have no need to be frustrated, this only makes them feel bad and locks them in their struggles. Show me how to bless in a way that sets my family free rather than holds them in their struggles.
Thank you Father for your wonder family blessing system you have shown us through Abraham.
Thank you in the name of your only begotten Son
