As Adventists, we have a message that is to go out to a dying world: the Three Angels Messages. But how do we do that? How do we gain the attention of the public and shake them to consider things they have never considered before? "Agitate, agitate, agitate the public mind. There must be no spiritual stupor now. Bring out important points of truth bearing directly upon genuine conversion—tracts of a few pages—and multiply copies for circulation. This will be at some expense if they are given away, but that should not deter or hinder the great work of spreading the…

It is the 1938/39 school year at Southern Jr. College in Collegedale, Tennessee. Hart Halvorsen, a lifelong Adventist, is Superintendent of the Department of Agriculture. His son Forest and daughter Betty were both enrolled in the school when word came that Elder LeRoy Froom was being sent to speak to the students in a series of meetings.  The evening of the first meeting Betty asked her dad if he was going.  Dad said, “No, the guy’s got some strange ideas.” “You’re required to go, so you have to.”

Part 6 in a series of articles on the 'Little horn' of Daniel 8, and the Leopard-like beast of Revelation 13. In former articles I have mentioned that the `lifting up ' of tamid paganism into the early Church (Dn. 8: 11) was accomplished when Augustine attempted a synthesis of `Eros' with `Agape'; thus resulting in `Caritas', which translates to `charity' and `lovingkindness'. This idea that `God is Caritas' resulted from a Hegelian dialective - in which the assertion by the Greek philosophers that `God is Eros' is both complimented and completed by the apostolic assertion that `God is…

I love Ellen White. Because I live near the White Sea? Because six months is snowing, and all white?   I understand that this woman through the Lord Himself nourished and brought up the whole prophetic movement - thousands and thousands of men and women. The power of God came into our dying world through this fragile and feeble woman ... I am grateful to her how grateful my mother. My mom helped me come to this world and become a man to think for themselves. Ellen White has helped me learn my Savior Jesus and the Heavenly Father.…

I have always considered Matthew 28:19 to be legitimate (unlike 1John 5:7,8).  Ran across this interesting article from sdaglobal.org that raises some questions.  What is really strange is that this article in from an "official" SDA denominational website that promotes Trinitarianism. The article begins with a brief comment from a non-Trinitarian SDA (name unknown),  about the significance of Matthew 28:19, in Trinitarian theology.  What follows is an article by Lon Martin (denomination unknown) about the early usage, and interpretation of the text.  Following Martin's article, this SDA comments upon the damage that SDA theology has undergone by accepting Trinitarianism.  He…

As the afterglow of Widgee Passover 2017, my first feast, lingers, I wanted to write down some of the things that are on my mind. The experience has been so life-changing that I don’t want any of the impressions to get lost as my memory fades with time.

Almost every Adventist writer that has ever written a book or article about the Holy Spirit from a Trinitarian perspective have quoted Ellen White. Specifically, "third person of the Godhead," and "three living persons." Many writers even argue that Ellen White was responsible for changing the entire denominational view regarding the Holy Spirit and Trinity. It's true that Trinitarians and non-trinitarians have their favorite EGW quotes ready for any given challenge, its also true that Mrs. White died in 1915 and therefore, cannot speak for herself. Within the midst of hundreds of EGW quotes on just about any given subject,…

Just about every day I surf the web for historical “stuff” of interest.  Ran across the SDA Newbold (UK) college website and was surprised by one teacher’s summary of SDA history.  Sounds like stuff taken right off a fountarian website.  His name is Jan Barna.  Someone should correspond with him.   His historical overview appears much too candid to not be sympathetic. 1940s Drive to make Adventism look more Christian  Protagonists: Leroy E. It came to a head one day, after sitting with Karna (wife) for some time, listening to sermon after sermon. The fire and brimstone speaker was Pastor David Gates, a real good friend and semi-teacher of mine, we had listened to about five sermons earnestly, then suddenly I heard a very peculiar sounding voice, some guy asking if I could explain the relationship between the Spirit of Prophecy and the Bible. The title was “The Authority of the Spirit of Prophecy", What? Who did this guy think he was? Asking me, ME! A 32 year vet in the field of…

What a joy to know the blessings that exist for us in Christ Jesus our Lord. To think that we can partake of His divine nature by faith and overcome every hereditary and cultivated tendency to sin. The following passage from Ellen White is found in the book Amazing Grace Page 235. May it bless you and it has me!

Greetings David,    You may recall i'm the guy whom you somewhat presumptuously thought was going to help fund your work because you believed i was a man of means? Far from it, i'm a senior living below the poverty level but who's been following your activities with much interest since contacting you to determine whether copies of the New Illustrated Great Controversy were still available only to learn they continue out of print, thus circulation, since their first and only printing way back when. It has, however, not been a source of amusement to see how you keep promoting that publication when there remain none…

Each quote contains the word "flow" highlighted in blue print. I found this compilation to be an excellent complement to the paper: "Breath of God the Breath of Life." The paper flows really well from start to finish!Praise God, From Whom All Blessings Flow God is love. Like rays of light from the sun, love and light and joy flow out from Him to all His creatures. The thought that God would actually keep His own commandments and not kill anyone as the commandments state while being extremely logical presents several problems to readers of the Bible. People approach many of the stories of the Old Testament like approach the law of God without the mercy seat. The reference is made to plain statements such as these:

No one likes to be misunderstood, or to perceive their beliefs as being misrepresented.  Mr. Parfitt was kind enough to respond to the accusation of being a Tritheist in these words. "...I devoted six pages of my book, from page 383 to page 389 to argue strongly against a Tri-Theistic position.  The idea that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are "three Gods" (plural) is totally abhorrent to me.  Bobbyb objects to my statements such as "...a unity of three Divine Beings in 'one Godhead,'" claiming that they make me a Tri-Theist....The fact is, it is very difficult to write…

A wonderful prospect for our future home in the new earth - wearing robes of light.  I was amazed at the impact that the robes of light had on revealing the character of God to Adam and Eve in their innocence.  This is what we have to look forward to. Won't it be wonderful!

What were my previous experiences that made my acceptance possible? What were the previous steps that led me to this point? What were God’s instruments in guiding my life? There…

Col 2:16,17 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. This passage of Scripture is one of the most hotly debated in the Christian world. What did Paul actually mean here? Is Paul relegating the gatherings of God’s people found in the book of the law to the scrap heap as a bunch of legalistic bondage? Is Paul telling the believers to not let people of the…

I can hardly believe some of the things our team were apart of.    HARD FACTS: 3 tribes of over 10,000 people went from being in desperation to having food to sell to  neighbouring tribes. So that includes Sopel and Edos, the two tribes in desperate famine have planted seed that will feed their entire tribes, that are shown in the photo below. Spirit and Power of Elijah quotes What was it that constituted the power of Elijah? “As the Lord liveth, before whom I stand” [1 Kings 17:1]—this was ever the watchword on his lips; and in these words lay his power. His message was from God; it filled his whole being. {Ms117-1907.20} Elijahs are called for at this period of earth’s history. Today, messengers are to go forth in the same spirit, with the Word of God in their hands, and the Spirit of God in their hearts, speaking words of warning and entreaty and pleading with God in earnest supplication.…
