God did not design that the people should do any fighting. He led them through the wilderness, in order that they might not see war. Yet He knew that if they went the way that they did, the Egyptians would surely pursue them. The children of Israel never had any greater need of fighting than they did when the Egyptians closed in on them by the Red Sea; yet the word then was, "The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."

Sleeping Safely in the Prison-House of the Enemy

Satan is the author of sin, suffering and sickness and has the power of death. (Hebrew 2:14)

Christ is the Resurrection and the life. (John 11:25) He is, in His very person, the way, the truth and the life. (John 14:6)

“The power of death was held by the devil; but Jesus had removed its stinging despair, by meeting the enemy upon his own territory and there conquering him. ... The conflict between Christ and Satan was determined when the Lord arose from the dead, shaking the prison-house of His enemy to its foundations, and robbing him of his spoils .... This resurrection was a sample, and an assurance, of the final resurrection of the righteous dead at Christ’s second coming.” {3SP 239.2}

How Christ tore down the pillars of Satan's kingdom and freed mankind from Satan's invisible prison—his lies about God and His Son—and from His visible prison—the grave—is the subject of this little booklet.
