This booklet shines a critical light on the subject of the covenants in the context of the controversy in 1888. Waggoner’s arguments are penetrating and open up for us a clearer understanding of the gospel and righteousness by faith.

We regret some expressions that Waggoner, as a younger minister made towards the older Butler. He would have been wiser to intreat him as a father. Yet, we are thankful for the vital points raised to give to the sincere reader an open door to come into the correct view of the covenants and the gospel
