The leaders of the Advent movement all held to new view of the Cosmos as presented by Copernicus, Kepler and Newton. No official position was presented on the subject but anyone who believed different was considered deluded.

Around the time of the 1888 message, the subject of the earth being level and stationary began to surface. After the 1888 message rejection, the Adventist movement had to address this rejection before doing anything else. Therefore when people came to Ellen White to ask about the level earth question, she told them that this question should be left alone until the message came from the Lord.

There are several statements from Ellen White that support the globe theory. As it was the prevailing opinion, to present a different view would derail the church from reclaiming the 1888 message.

Today for those who have walked the path of the loving Character of God and seen the depths of the 1888 message, now the time has come for the message about the world God has created.
