Isaiah 9:6
I have came across a discussion with some Trinitarians on Isaiah 9:6. This verse does not prove a Trinity but they looked at a particular verse that says :''the everlasting Father''. I have broken down each of those verses and add other verses to compared and we get the whole picture and context on Isaiah 9:6.
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given - Son of Man (Humanity)....Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
and the government shall be upon his shoulder - Jesus inherits all things from His Father .. Matt 28:18 All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth
Joh 3:35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
Mic 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
and his name shall be called Wonderful - Wonderful in Counsel...Isa_28:29 This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.
Counsellor - His Spirit... Rom 11:34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Isa_40:13 Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?
The mighty God - Son of God (Divinity)... Heb 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
The everlasting Father - He carries His Father Name...John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name.
Exo 23:21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.
Heb 2:13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
The Prince of Peace - He brings Peace....John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
