Trading identity for Power

Rev 13:2  And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

Dear Father

The knowledge of your Son gives such illumination, He is wonderous to behold, my joy and song. I looked for Him amongst the great men of the earth, but His Kingdom is not of this world. But in looking at the men of this world, I see the grasp for power, the desire for the supremacy, the desire for ascension, I see it because I was taught it, felt it, tasted it, desired it, grasped for it myself.

In the context of these last days, the nature of such a grasp is structured in the form of a leopard, ah, the seduction of egalitarian democracy, the power in the people! I see that when the power is in the people, leaders must market themselves to the populace to secure their vote. Those men most desperate to reign willingly market several versions of themselves until their core identity is lost and so identity is traded for power. Promise everything and stand for nothing! Such is the seduction of the leopard, you must trade your identity to obtain power and so the kingdoms are ruled by the basest of men.

What I find most offensive Lord is the effort made to cast you in this light, to trade your true identity as a Father by taking from you your Son and casting you simply as power, changing the truth of God into a lie and worshipping and serving the creature more than the Creator. We hear endless monologue about the mystery, the distance, the transcendence, the blending of identities until there is only power left. Such insult, such abomination, such facing towards the sun in the sanctuary.

So as a consequence you have taken the stay of bread and water and taken the mighty man, the judge, the prophet, the prudent and wise, the honourable man and counsellor and you give us children to be our princes – men who trade identity for power, men who conceal their heart, do not stand for a cause, never let you know what they really think, for to do so would shatter the mask of multiple identity which is critical to holding democratic power. And so children become our oppressors and women rule over us, for the spirit of Nimrod looks to a mother/wife for strength for he has never tasted the manhood that comes with a true identity as a son of God.

Lord we deserve this enslavement, we have desired it to be so, we have sort ease and pleasure and now the chains of this seduction tighten by the day. Our homes are collapsing, our power structures are becoming more controlling through their insecurity and lack of identity.

And so it is true, multiple identity is the path of the insane, but multiple identity is the path to democratic power.

Soon this power will be broken, noise from the east will trouble them, peace is the cry but there is no peace, not until your Son comes again and delivers us from such madness.

Deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen
