Water out of the Rock

One night I dreamed a dream.  I was sitting near a person who asked me "show me the Lord Jesus Christ".  I picked up a smooth rock, and placed it on dry ground.  As I planted this rock on the dry Ground, water began to gush out of it, spreading to the four corners of the earth.  The water that came out of this rock made the dry soil soft and moist, so that it could be planted with seed, waiting for germination and the rain to spring that seed into a plant, that would never perish or fade away.  As long as the ground stayed moist and firm for the plant, its roots would remain, and there will be no place for desolation.

Previous to this dream, I had just been listening to a sermon about how the Lord uses us as channels of blessings to those that do not know him.  And that if we receive him as he is, he will use us as the Pipeline for his grace to go to those that are dying in the World.

I related this dream to my wife, and as she listened, her smile grew as if it had spoken to her very heart.  She said to me "Amen! God is Good, and his love to us".  That very day I went fishing with my brother in law on the coast of Thames.  As we were catching fish, I shared with him what I had dreamed.  He said to me "What a neat illustration".

I told him what I had dreamed, and related to him what the Lord was sharing with me. "The Rock is Christ, when he is planted in the dryness of our hearts; water gushes out from the Rock, and causes the Ground to become soft.  When our hearts contemplate on whom our Saviour is and what he has done for us, we become broken as it is written "If you fall upon the Rock, you will be broken.  But if the Rock falls on you, it will grind you to powder".  The Water that comes out from the Rock is the Life of Christ, and this Life is in His Word, refreshing those that hear the Word of God.  The Four corners are the four corners of the earth, waiting to hear the Gospel of the Father and the Son, their relationship with us and each other.  The Father will place in the hearts of men and women a knowledge of himself, so that we may be living in his only begotten son.  That by beholding, we may become changed from Glory unto Glory, into the Image of the Father and the Son.  The Dry Ground that turns soft is what happens when God's word is hidden in the heart.  The naturalness of the human nature diminishes, and the spiritual nature is set.  The seed that is to be planted is the Word of God, and the Rain to come is the Latter Rain or the refreshing from the presence of the Lord.  The Growing of the seed is what happens when the Word is placed in good soil, and in effect it brings forth fruit according what it is given.  According to the Garner that planted the Rock.  When the fruit is Ripe from the Tree, the Gardner will pick from it, eat from it, and be satisfied.  This is what happens to our hearts when the Rock is placed in it."

As I related both the dream and the Interpretation, Both the listener and speaker received a blessing.  It is as if the Lord shared with me the full meaning of that dream and its relation at that period of time.

As I went home that night, still thinking about what was said, I feel on my knees, surrender my heart to the Lord as said "In my hands nothing I bring, simply to the cross I cling"

After praying this prayer, I turned to the book Patriarchs and Prophets.  I was impressed to go to the Chapter the Smitten Rock.  As I opened that sanctified book, this is what I read...

"The Saviour made use of this symbolic service to direct the minds of the people to the blessings that He had come to bring them.”In the last day, that great day of the feast," His voice was heard in tones that rang through the temple courts, "If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink. He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." "This," said John, "spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive." John 7:37-39. The refreshing water, welling up in a parched and barren land, causing the desert place to blossom, and flowing out to give life to the perishing, is an emblem of the divine grace which Christ alone can bestow, and which is as the living water, purifying, refreshing, and invigorating the soul. He in whom Christ is abiding has within him a never-failing fountain of grace and strength. Jesus cheers the life and brightens the path of all who truly seek Him. His love, received into the heart, will spring up in good works unto eternal life. And not only does it bless the soul in which it springs, but the living stream will flow out in words and deeds of righteousness, to refresh the thirsting around him.

The same figure Christ had employed in His conversation with the woman of Samaria at Jacob's well: "Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." John 4:14. Christ combines the two types. He is the rock, He is the living water" Patriarchs and Prophets 412-413 (emphasis supplied).

In tears, I read this message, in joy I received it.  Like a child that receives a hug from his Father, even so I felt that the Lord was near me...though I could not see him.

Still in the frame of his presence, that still small voice that speaks to his children said thus...

"And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb" (Rev 22:1)

My prayer is that we may be in a place where we can be still and know that God is our Father, and that we are to Honour the Son as we Honour our heavenly Father.  We are almost home and we will see him face to face, for we shall see him as he is.  May the water of Gods Love and the divine blessing of his only begotten Son enrich our hearts, as he prepares it for his soon coming.

Amen
