When will men learn that God is God, not man, and that He does not change? EVERY calamity, EVERY death, is a witness to the POWER OF EVIL and to the truth of the living God. The Word of God is life, and it will abide forever. Through all eternity it will stand fast. How can man, knowing what God is and what He has done, choose Satan's way instead of God's way? There is only one path to Paradise restored,—the path of obedience. -
Signs of the Times, January 25, 1910, par. 18

We have only one channel of approach to God

[Cristina emailed me this quote this morning and what a blessing it was. I don't recall seeing this before. It speaks so clearly of the work of our one intercessor and how His Spirit intercedes within us. Thank you Cristina for sending this. - Adrian]

Hi Adrian,

I've never seen this statement before, and didn't know if you've seen it. I'm sending it just in case, it's helped me to understand the Bible verse to which it refers.

“We have only one channel of approach to God. Our prayers can come to him through one name only,--that of the Lord Jesus our advocate. His Spirit must inspire our petitions. No strange fire was to be used in the censers that were waved before God in the sanctuary. So the Lord himself must kindle in our hearts the burning desire, if our prayers are acceptable to him. The Holy Spirit within must make intercessions for us, with groanings that cannot be uttered.” {Ellen White, RH, February 9, 1897 par. 10}.

Blessings,

Cristina
