When God warned Noah of a world wide flood, did God use coersion to cause Noah to build an ark? If God was the one who would personally drown millions of people in the flood is not the command to build the ark simply a threat. Would this not be saying "do this or I will kill you!"

How is this different to the Mafia who protect people who do what they tell them and support them through appeasement payments? Would God every use manipulation to make people do what He wants?
