The earthly sanctuary services were appointed of God to help man know and understand exactly what God was willing to do for him. Every animal slain by the hand of the sinner was to be a miniature Calvary. It was to reveal to man the deep-seated enmity he held against God, but in the same instant to prove to him that God held nothing back, not even His Son, if by any means He could bring man to see his rebellion. It was in this way that God prepared the catalyst to break the proud and stubborn heart of man. Nothing less than “blood” could wash away such an awful sin as his, i.e., the will to kill God.

Amazed at Calvary in Egypt

Have you ever read a book that you could not put it down until you finished?

Have you ever had your heart opened to such a truth, that as you heard it for the first time you knew it was right, even though you had never considered such a thing before?

This was my experience...

I downloaded Calvary in Egypt to read the next day when I took my son to a Physio Therapy appointment. What I read blew my mind.. I had never considered such a thing before, but to be logical, it cannot be any other way.

The statement which stunned me was on page 11  which says

"When Moses released the rod and it fell to the ground, the power that is in Christ became serpent like. Christ is the power of God. When God said to Satan “Behold, all that he hath is in thy power;” (Job 1:12) God was dropping His rod to the ground. The rod is Christ who is compelled by Satan to serve his own purpose even as Satan inspired the Roman soldiers to compel Christ to carry the cross to the hill of Calvary."

This paragraph triggered something in my mind that I had never considered... I had always thought that there were 2 powers good and evil, but as it plainly states in scripture in psalm 62:11 "God hath spoken once, twice have I heard this that power belonged to God". This was confronting and comforting at the same time and as I considered this, wave after wave of emotion rolled over me, as I read the rest of the book with new eyes. I am amazed at the infinite love the Father and His begotten Son.

Calvary in Egypt is another one of those amazing patterns that as we look into scripture we find that they repeat over and over.
