The Waters Of Life Everlasting.

“But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life” John 4:14

In my last blog I closed with this verse and stated that it would be for another time. Well, the Lord has impressed upon my mind that NOW is that time.

oTThrouThrough prayer God has been working upon my mind with the theme of being “a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it (the river), and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life…and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations”. Rev 22:1-2.

TTher  TThese references joined with “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” John 7:38 have shown me what God wants to achieve through me.

The picture that God, through inspiration, (see 2 Tim 3:16) is describing here is not that of a simple stream of water; but an overflowing river out of His people to all nations. I can be the “river of water” through which the Spirit Jesus Christ can flow as a blessing to everyone.

Is it excessive to think that rivers of blessing will flow out of individuals? I believe not! What about Abraham? (Gen 12:1-3. What about Isaac? (Gen 26:24). What about Jacob? (Gen 35:11-12)

Jesus has promised that as surely as we receive blessings from Him, He will pour out continuous blessings to others through us.

But when ever the blessings are not being continuously poured out in the same measure as they are received, it means that the “river of living water” has encountered an obstruction. IF that is the case, then the obstruction is in my life and I need to go back to my Source of life and seek to clear the obstruction by confession or ask to have it removed so that the flow can again become continuous.

Jesus says “out of him (His people who drink of the water that He gives) shall flow rivers of living water”, these are not idle words but a promise to claim.

As the river has a relationship to its source and will always rely upon that source to remain a river and not become a dry water course, let us guard carefully our belief in and relationship with our Source of life and blessings, The Lord Jesus Christ.

Heavenly Father, is there anything between me and Your Son, my Saviour Christ Jesus? Is there anything hindering my belief or faith in Him? Please reveal all to me that “rivers of living water” can flow out of me to others. Amen
