God did not design that the people should do any fighting. He led them through the wilderness, in order that they might not see war. Yet He knew that if they went the way that they did, the Egyptians would surely pursue them. The children of Israel never had any greater need of fighting than they did when the Egyptians closed in on them by the Red Sea; yet the word then was, "The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."

The True Cross

Part of series The True Cross

1Co 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

Gal 3:1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

How did Paul set forth before the EYES of the Galatians the cross of Christ. How was it not that he simply set the story of the cross over 20 years earlier before their ears?

Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world

Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

How could Isaiah say in 700BC that Christ was already wounded for our transgressions?

The cross event 2000 years ago opens the window into the sufferings of Christ from the foundation of the world. Each day Christ takes up His cross and denies Himself in letting people continue to abuse themselves and others. Christ sees every harsh word every selfish deed and every crime and it wounds Him and tortures Him. This has been going on for 6000 years and soon the sufferings of Christ will end. Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Shall we add to the sufferings of Christ or will we receive His grace in a measure that will allow us to be crucified with Christ
