George and I had the opportunity to attend a Feast of Tabernacles in Talking Rock, Georgia, from October 21-28 hosted by the Talking Rock Sabbath Chapel. It was wonderful to meet so many new friends, but what was so spectacular about this camp meeting was the moving of the Holy Spirit upon the participants. There were many people there with different convictions, but all were at peace with one another. Frank Klin started out the first weekend in prayer and an emphasis towards a "Day of Atonement" experience before the camp meeting would begin the following Monday. Reconciliation was made…

Feature Article This months newsletter contains a chapter from Adrian's recent book My Beloved. Read More Here | Watch Presentation Here | Purchase Here (Ebook) My Beloved Chapter 14. A House of Cards I remember one of the first times the light came on in my mind, and I started to see how theologians could make such absurd statements. For years it puzzled me how people who professed the Bible could deny a literal six day creation, deny the Sabbath or believe that people went straight to heaven when they died. Worse still, were the statements from Adventist scholars denying the investigative work of…

Greetings to all my Maranatha mates! I returned 3 weeks ago from 8 thrilling, fulfilling days in Fiji – my second trip this year. My first was in January, when, like Abraham, I went by faith, not knowing where I was going. I ended up in a sleepy little village called Savutalele, nestled amongst the majestic mountains of the Tamavua Ridge, about 7 miles from Suva. My mission in January was to work with the youth of Mount Olive SDA Church in Savutalele, encouraging and exhorting them in their faith and in the sharing of the Gospel. The short…

Note: Please refer first to the article A Solid Platform written by Adrian Ebens for a clearer understanding of the subject of which this is a response. “This mischievous practice was brought into the church, almost as soon as the Apostles had left the world.  The converts from heathenism seemed intent on uniting heathen philosophy with christianity.  Hence they must find an abundance of mysteries in the Scriptures: and the practice of allegorizing, i.e. making the language to contain something that does not appear in the words, commenced and generally prevailed, before the third century.  This was done, doubtless, with…

Many are familiar with the fact that Adventism is following the pattern of Israel 1 Cor 10:11  Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

My Testimony  (By Alora Weaver, wife of Dennis Weaver) I want to give you a little bit of my testimony.  I grew up living at various houses because both my parents were in the entertainment business, traveled a lot and  were unable to raise me.  My mother was an actress and model.  I lived with her in Florida and at the age of six I was in the stage play “The King and I.”  Yul Brenner stared in it and when he died, I knew that it wasn’t real, that he was only pretending.   My father was a guitarist,…
The main attack people have against considering a deeper study of how God works is that we are destroying the “plainness” and “literalness” of scripture.. To them, a verse like “I will destroy man whom I have created…” (Genesis 6:7) clearly means that God supernaturally and directly flooded the world. This is also true with “the LORD rained upon Sodom…brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven.”

I was graced to read Brother Adrian’s “Why I Remain Part of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church“ and “Why I Cling to My Adventist Brethren.” Before I discovered the ministry here at Maranatha Media I was on track to calling the Adventist church Babylon and looking to heed the Scripture that entreats, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing…” (2nd Corinthians 6:17 KJV).

Isa 65:24  And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. Driving home from shopping 2 days ago, in our 4WD LandCruiser, I was pulled over by the police for a random breath test - no problem there.  The officers have a quick look over the vehicle as well - no flat tyres or other problems obvious!  On my way again!
While I was looking for some statements in volume 8 of the testimonies, the Lord shared these other ones with me. As father’s day approaches, I ask myself the question inspiration shares with us in this volume. What greater joy could come to the sinner saved by the grace of Christ than to look upon the face of God and know Him as Father? In the creation of man was manifested the agency of a personal God. When God had made man in His image, the human form was perfect in all its arrangements, but it was without life. Then…
GCB, April 1, 1903 The reading of the book of the law, so long forgotten, made a deep impression upon the king's mind. He realized that something must be done to bring this law to the attention of the people, and to lead them to conform their lives to its teachings. By his own course of action, he designed to show his respect for the law. He humbled himself before God, rending his clothes.        In his position as king, it was the work of Josiah to carry out in the Jewish nation the principles taught in the book…

2Cor 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  Many have a loving relationship with the Lord, but over time they lose their experience and struggle to regain it. The science of salvation involved here is not well understood, hence the struggle to get back the previous experience and one becomes a lost sheep. Once upon a time they knew the shepherd, but they got lost and forgot the…

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God is love. This was the great truth that Christ came to the world to reveal. Satan had so misrepresented the character of God to the world, that man stood remote from God; but Christ came to display to the world the Father's attributes, to represent the express image of his person. "As the Father gave me commandment, even so I do." "This commandment have I received of my Father." The object of Christ's mission to the world was…

The apostle John uses the Greek verb exerchomai (to come out from) six times in his gospel. It appears in several forms depending on the grammatical tense, person, and mood of the verb.
This blog is a continuation from the two previous ones subtitled "Married to Another" - a blog series contrasting the two covenants. Example 5: - The faithful Roman Centurion  The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy for you to come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. – Matt 8:8   Now we will consider the faith of a man who experienced the everlasting covenant to whom Jesus – “the Prince of the Holy Covenant” – encountered and commended. The self-distrust and firm belief exemplified in the Roman army…

This article will address and define the proper use of force, injury, and non-resistance and non-violence in the context of Jesus’s command to “Resist not evil” in Matthew 5:39. It is not being passive and doing nothing. And it doesn't mean no physical force whatsoever: "There is an uninjurious, benevolent physical force. There are cases in which it would not only be allowable, but in the highest degree commendable, to restrain human beings by this kind of force. Thus, maniacs, the insane, the delirious sick, ill-natured children, the intellectually or morally non-compos mentis, the intoxicated and the violently passionate, are…

There are times in life when you become aware that you are operating on a pattern or principles that through exposure and repetition becomes sub conscious. When I was visiting the United States a few years ago, I discovered this when walking down a sidewalk. As I was walking a person was coming in the opposite direction, I moved to the left and he moved to the right and when you are coming from opposite directions this means we both moved into each other. I had this happen several times. The pattern that has been developed in my mind of…

Here we find the greatest reason why men and women can’t see the truth of God’s character. The condemnation by which they judge themselves or others, prevents them from accepting the agape of God, just like Peter. His own judgment of his situation limited the love of Jesus for him and hid from Peter the true love Jesus had for him.
Yes, I believe it does. Following, a Sequence of events and particulars from Revelation 4 onwards, and its relation to other sections of the Bible plus some EGW comments: ® A door was opened in heaven. Rev. 4:1 A door is opened to the church of Philadelphia. The Church who was waiting the Lord in 1844 is part of the church of Philadelphia according to our historical understanding. EGW identifies the open door referred to the church of Philadelphia as Jesus Christ starting his ministry in the Most Holies, as it follows, "This subject was not understood by Adventists…
