2Co 3:18  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. Here is a key principle of the Christian faith – beholding with open face the glory of the Lord, we become changed into the same image. As we behold Christ, (John 1:29) as we feed upon Him, (John 6:51) meditate upon Him and consider Him, (Heb 12:3) we receive of His Spirit (John 15:26) and we become like Him in character.

Psa 33:6-9  By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath [Ruach] of his mouth.  (7)  He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.  (8)  Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.  (9)  For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. Heb 11:3  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen…

Character Perfection and the Harvest Dear [Contact.First Name], What is the event that causes the harvest of the righteous to take place?  "When the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come." Christ is waiting with longing desire for the manifestation of Himself in His church. When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own.       It is the privilege of every Christian not only to look for but to hasten the coming of our…

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God is love. This was the great truth that Christ came to the world to reveal. Satan had so misrepresented the character of God to the world, that man stood remote from God; but Christ came to display to the world the Father's attributes, to represent the express image of his person. "As the Father gave me commandment, even so I do." "This commandment have I received of my Father." The object of Christ's mission to the world was…

God has not revealed to us the time when this message will close, or when probation will have an end. Those things that are revealed we shall accept for ourselves and for our children; but let us not seek to know that which has been kept secret in the councils of the Almighty. It is our duty to watch and work and wait, to labor every moment for the souls of men that are ready to perish. We are to keep walking continually in the footsteps of Jesus, working in His lines, dispensing His gifts as good stewards of the…
Foundations of the Medieval Church. "the results of their [the Franks'] occupation of Gaul were so important, the empire which they founded, their alliance with the church, their legal notions and political institutions were all of such decisive influence upon the future that their history deserves separate treatment. . . . It is to them [the Franks] that the political inheritance of the Roman Empire passed; to them came the honor of taking up and carrying on, roughly, to be sure, and far less extensively and effectively, but nevertheless of actually carrying on the political work which Rome had been doing. They…

There are two kingdoms that vie for the souls of men, one has a true Father “Our Father” who in His rightful place in Heaven blesses because He is a real Father. In the other kingdom stands a pretender holding only a usurped position. One who can give no life. Only a confused image and understanding. Ultimately this kingdom brings a curse.

The first time I saw her she was at the emergency room in the local hospital. I was there with a badly swollen sprained ankle. Suddenly I did not even remember the pain, because I could not take my eyes off of her. She was loudly demanding something, and her words were unintelligible. She was nervously wheeling her chair back and forth in the waiting area. Finally someone brought her a sandwich and I could tell her table manners had much to be desired. Above all she was so unattractive, in her mid-fifties perhaps, very skinny, and she did not…

The Destroying Angel The Lord worked for His people by signs and wonders, sending terrible judgments upon Pharaoh. At length the destroying angel was bidden to slay the first-born of man and beast among the Egyptians. {DA 51.3}  Let Christian parents resolve that they will be loyal to God, and let them gather their children into their homes [325] with them and strike the doorpost with blood, representing Christ as the only One who can shield and save, that the destroying angel may pass over the cherished circle of the household. Let me give you a very direct example of the affect on dependents. A friend suggested to us a movie to watch because it detailed the challenges of a family that had an autistic child. Our Doctor also suggested it would be good to see because it reflected some of the things our family have been dealing with. I was asked a few times had I watched it and finally I found a few sections of it on youtube. I watched it alone but my wife saw a few minutes of it. Neither of my children saw it or were…
Yes, I believe it does. Following, a Sequence of events and particulars from Revelation 4 onwards, and its relation to other sections of the Bible plus some EGW comments: ® A door was opened in heaven. Rev. 4:1 A door is opened to the church of Philadelphia. The Church who was waiting the Lord in 1844 is part of the church of Philadelphia according to our historical understanding. EGW identifies the open door referred to the church of Philadelphia as Jesus Christ starting his ministry in the Most Holies, as it follows, "This subject was not understood by Adventists…

Seventh-Day Adventists often discuss `The Latter Rain', and question whether or not the `showers of blessing' of the Latter Rain will begin to fall shortly before a National Sunday Law is proclaimed, or shortly after.  The official teaching of the Church on this subject, is that Martin Luther first proclaimed Righteousness by Faith, and it was  `rediscovered' the truth of `Righteousness by Faith', as the fourth quarter of the 2011 Sabbath School lesson pamphlet declares in its introduction to `The Gospel in Galatians': `INTRODUCTION The Gospel in Galatians Paul’s letter to the Galatians has been compared to spiritual “dynamite,” and…

A precious thought came to me this morning from when I was a small boy. I was seated with my parents and sister watching the Sound of Music video. We came to the part where Captain Von trapp sang the song Edelweiss. My father was singing along with the song and then his voice caught. I turned a looked into my father's face to see tears in his eyes and I was surprised as I had no context for his tears. The song reminded him of his father and his childhood in the Netherlands. His tears revealed the love he…
If the early Adventist church was unanimously non-trinitarian, and the modern Adventist church is avowedly Trinitarian, how did this monumental change come about?  The standard denominational answer is simply:  Ellen White changed the denominational belief about the Trinity mainly by her quotations found in "The Desire of Ages." (The Trinity, Whidden, Moon, Reeve)DID ELLEN WHITE CHANGE HER MIND?This premise is based SOLELY upon the presumption that EGW changed her fundamental belief of the identity of God (from non-trinitarian in harmony with her colleges, then become a "Biblical Trinitarian"). (see, B. Andrew) The problem with this supposition, is that it's based…

For now here is a sample of it.   Epic Sacrifice It began in the realm of celestial heights In a far away home beyond the stars of the nights.   One stood highly honored fair and bright Perfect in wisdom, beauty to the sight Highest of the angels, guardian of law. From the time that Lucifer (who is also known as Satan, or the Devil), first entertained thoughts of rebellion against God, to when sin is finally vanquished when death is cast into the `lake of fire' with him (Revelation 20: 10, 14), the entire issue of salvation has from eternity hinged upon the principle of the character of God, in contrast to the character of Satan. Philippians 2: 5 - 8 contrasts the selfless mind of Christ (of which we are exhorted to partake of), with the selfish mind of Lucifer, the fallen angel of God: `Let this mind be…

" There's no need of a donation for Mr. Goodman," growled out Mr. Penniman, on his way home from church, after the notice of a proposed donation visit had been given; " he has salary enough without—six hundred dollars a year and a parsonage and garden spot—that's enough for any family to live on; why, it doesn't cost us near that, and we have six children, and they have only four. 'Twas real mean for Mr. Goodman to exchange, and get that man to give out the notice." And Mr. Penniman fretted away in the ear of his silent wife…
