The thought that God would actually keep His own commandments and not kill anyone as the commandments state while being extremely logical presents several problems to readers of the Bible. People approach many of the stories of the Old Testament like approach the law of God without the mercy seat. The reference is made to plain statements such as these:

What does it mean when God permits or suffers something to happen? How are we to understand the suffering in the world? How is it related to the sufferings of God? 

A. Questioning the Plain Statements of Scripture From the beginning of time Satan has tried to confuse the human race about the meaning of God’s statements.
